Facebook officially hits 2 billion users

Facebook is undoubtedly the most popular social network in the world. Facebook has seen a significant growth over the last ten years, making it one of the most valuable companies in the world. The Menlo Park Company has been busy expanding its social network for years to more markets in an attempt to attract more users.

Facebook today announced that its social network officially hits two billion users worldwide, surpassing other competitors on the market. According to Facebook, one billion people are using the company’s social network every month and more than 800 million people like something on Facebook every day.

According to tech analysts, competitors have a lot of work to do if they want to dethrone Facebook in the social network market. YouTube, the world’s biggest video-sharing platform now has more than 1.5 billion monthly users, while Facebook’s main rival, Twitter now has 328 million users worldwide.

Facebook is leading the market thanks to its exciting features. Facebook-owned messaging services, WhatsApp and Messenger now have more than one billion users worldwide. Tech analysts say that Instagram will soon join the illustrious billion users club. In April, Instagram announced that its photo-sharing service reached 700 million users, up from 600 million reported in December 2016.

Facebook has been working on a way to bring its social network to more users. The company has recently optimized its mobile app for cheaper Android-based smartphone and low-bandwidth connections. The social network is showing a growth in Asia, where it has added more than 700 million users, helping the company reach a noteworthy milestone.

Facebook has been trying to bring its social network to China, the world’s second largest smartphone market to increase user adoption.  The company is expected to get around 700 million users in China, where the social network is currently banned.
