Google Pixel 2 to come with Snapdragon 836 chip


Last year, Google made waves by introducing the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. Google Pixel and Pixel XL mark the first phones carrying Google branding on the market. This allows the company to take full control over the design and hardware.

Google Pixel and Pixel XL made a gigantic hit when they launched to the public earlier this year, and were quickly sold out at retailers worldwide. Pixel and Pixel XL are a great success for Google and the company has undoubtedly something major planned for the second generation Pixel phones.

The second generation Google Pixel smartphones are expected to come with premium design and high-end specs, just like their predecessors. According to the latest sources, the Google Pixel 2 will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 836, making it the first smartphone to come with the most powerful mobile chip on the market. This year, Samsung Galaxy S8 was expected to mark the debut of the Snapdragon 836, but it was nowhere to be found at launch event.

The Qualcomm’s latest mobile chipset offers more processing power than its predecessors (about 10% faster). The new CPU is expected to power a wide range of high-end smartphones this year. Sources say that the two big names in the industry, Xiaomi and OnePlus are planning to include the Snapdragon 836 in their new smartphones this year.

According to tech analysts say that Qualcomm’s new CPU delivers much-improved performance for camera, thereby allowing users to instantly take a picture. There have been a lot of rumors regarding Google’s next generation Pixel phones. The upcoming device is expected to sport a 4.97-inch display with Full HD resolution and 4GB of RAM. Besides, the new device will feature 64GB of internal storage and two front-facing stereo speakers. The Google Pixel and Pixel XL will likely make their debut in the fall to take on Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8.
