iPhone 8 to come with AirPods in the box

Last year, Apple officially removed the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack in favor of a thinner iPhone model. Instead, the Cupertino Company introduced a new wireless pair of headphones called AirPods. However, the new AirPods are sold separately for $159 with delivery arriving within six weeks.

In reality, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus ship with an included Lightning to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter and $30~$40 EarPods. According to tech analysts, Apple might bundle the AirPods with the premium iPhone 8 this year. This means that iPhone 8 owners will get a pair of AirPods without even paying $159.

However, sources say that if the AirPods speculation is true, Apple will be struggling to meet huge demand for the premium iPhone 8 and even its wireless headphones this year. Last year, the Cupertino Company expanded capacity at its plants to meet the strong demand for the earphones. This explains why AirPods have a six week shipment date. Besides, Apple is also having manufacturing issues that may force it to push back the launch of iPhone 8. Therefore, it does not seem likely that the iPhone 8 will come with AirPods in the box.

Sources say that Apple’s decision to include the AirPods in the box may hike the iPhone 8 price when it launches later this year. This matches with previous rumors which claimed that the iPhone 8 would be priced at $1,000.

Apple might launch up three iPhone models this year including a premium iPhone 8, a 4.7 inch iPhone 7s and a 5.5 inch iPhone 7s Plus. This year’s iPhone 8 is expected to come with a new design, OLED panel, wireless charging and 3D sensors for AR technology. Besides, the device will likely include a revolutionary 3D camera and Touch ID 2.0 at the rear.
