Snapchat is one of the most popular messaging services out there. Snapchat allows users to send messages and share images that are self-deleting. The company has been busy improving its messaging app for years to take on Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.
The messaging app has just released an update that brings the ability to add links to your snaps, Backdrops and Voice Filters. The links, also known as Paperclips are among the most noticeable additions to the app. Basically, you now can add a website while composing a snap right in the app. This eliminates the need for a third-party tool to be installed on your device.
According to Snapchat, viewers need to swipe up to access the link in the app. The update also introduces Backdrop, a nice feature that allows users to customize their photos before sharing. Users can apply new design in the background of their photo. Besides, users can select which part of the photo they want to include in the background.
Snapchat also allows users to add effects over their voice with Voice Filters. With the new update, the messaging app officially introduces On-Demand Geofilters feature that allows users to create custom geofilters right within the app. In reality, Geofilters feature has been available for Snapchat users since last year. However, users need to head to a dedicated website for submitting their on-demand geofilters.
Geofilters are among the most noticeable additions to Snapchat we have ever seen in recent years. Basically, the feature allows users to add a variety of filters to their snaps. Geofilters feature was initially available for a limited number of users worldwide, but Snapchat has recently expanded the feature to all users, businesses, and brands. According to Snapchat, users can also create their own geofilters for their private events like wedding, party, and more.
