Telegram version 4.0

Telegram for iOS today received a major update, introducing several new features and performance improvements. iPhone owners now can update the app from the App Store and get three new features including bot payments, video messaging and Instant View.

With video messaging support, Telegram users now can send their video messages to their friends. According to Telegram, to send video messages, users simply need to tap on the mic icon in the app to switch to camera mode, and then tap and hold the camera icon to start recording a video. Besides, users can also swipe up to lock the camera in recording mode if they don’t like holding the buttons.

Telegram is also introducing Telesco.pe. Basically, Telesco.pe allows users to view video messages from public Telegram channels. This is a great feature for popular folks who frequently use videos to communicate with their audiences. Your video message will automatically be uploaded to Telesco.pe along with a URL link for sharing when you post it to a public channel.

Today’s update also includes support for bot payments. Telegram users now can order food, pay for their T-Shirts, and hire a cab with some simple taps. Noticeably, Telegram’s bots support Apple’s mobile payment service, Apple Pay, making it much easier for iOS users to make their purchases. To make this possible, users simply need to tap the Pay button in a message conversation, enter their credit card information and confirm their payment.

According to Telegram, the update is rolling out, so if you don’t have it yet. Don’t freak out because it will hit your device soon.
